ABOUT THIS WORK

Time is slime. That sort of sums up my trajectory as the planet I’m on spins despite itself. The point is that time cannot just be harnessed. Don’t believe Dr Who, your life is not a cult series on TV.

As Bowie said, "There is no journey. We are arriving and departing at the same time.’ So — you are all over the place.

Bowie was obviously correct. How could he, of all people, have been wrong? As you step out of one reality, you step into another. Saying hello and goodbye is the same thing, it’s a code that opens the door to everyone’s personal Time Machine. Then I dropped my phone in water.

The first thing you feel is a rush of blood to the head. Will everyday existence ever be the same? Then you realise that people around you need to be told, however you do it, that you won’t be around. Well, you may be around, but you ’ll be difficult to locate.

The point of being an artist who works under the name of the mysterious Fringe, is that you are never readily available. No one has the privilege of defining one’s time. I hope that means that one’s art is "Timeless'.  - FRINGE
