Is it nature or nurture?
Somewhere in our DNA there’s a blueprint for who we will love — how that person will look, and what we will eat on that special occasion when we get it together. Love and fate have enthralled writers and composers since humans first spoke.
Some caveman said “Gerk” and the love song was born. Days were filled with what the cave people thought were beautiful sounds. Art and love have made better bedfellows than art and hate.
The mighty rocks that hold up mountains are awash with ancient paintings of happy harmony. They testify to the fact that food, fornication and family have been intertwined for millions of years.
Oh, and let’s include the gods in that. So what’s changed in the modern world? Not much.
